Tango Mar is
where your dreams and desires all come together. Located on a 150 acre
private beachfront reserve, here you can appreciate the natural attractions of Costa Rica. The tropical setting evokes a sense of being in the Garden of Eden surrounded by exotic plants and trees.
Here is a place that is charmed by a unique
atmosphere, its own microclimate and favorable all year round conditions.
Manicured grounds and fine accommodations blend with exuberant jungle
vegetation and exotic birds and animals to create the perfect balance of
nature and refinement. Here you will encounter a living community with a
pulse that beats in time with its natural surroundings and to the
push-pull rhythm of the constantly breaking Pacific waves.
You never need look far to find wild birds and animals such as macaws, toucans, parrots, sloths, turtles, iguana, deer and many other species. Several resident families of howler monkeys entertain guests daily with their antics amid the treetops. But don't be startled by their trademark "howl" fit for creatures at least ten times their size!
Along the Nicoya Peninsula on the Pacific Coast, Tango Mar offers the
intimate exclusivity of a small, deluxe beach resort on a vast site where
you can find a space to call your own.
Each of our 18 beachfront hotel rooms has a
breathtaking view of the Pacific Ocean from its own private balcony. They
features 2 queen size beds, tropical style furniture, air conditioning and
ceiling fans, fully equipped mini-bar, coffee maker, private bath with hot
water and large shower, safe deposit box, satellite TV and telephone.
These oversized hotel rooms are right on the
beach, so close to the ocean that in high tide the surf touches the base
of the building and the gentle sounds of the surf put you to sleep every
night.
Our Tropical Suites are surrounded by
exuberant tropical gardens and are just 90 steps from the beach on a bluff
overlooking the Pacific. Elegantly appointed, each suite is graced with
hand carved four post canopy king size bed. All rooms have air
conditioning and ceiling fans, private bath with Jaccuzi, hair dryer, mini
bar, coffee maker, safe deposit box, telephone and satellite TV. All
suites are contained within an elliptical, shell shaped cluster and share
a sun deck.

and to the side of the hotel are our Polynesian style wood and bamboo
cabanas sitting atop stilts just 60 ft. (20m) from the beach and
surrounded by tropical gardens and palm trees.
All suites are furnished with fine carved
wood king size beds, sitting areas, air conditioning, ceiling fans, mini
bar, coffee maker, safe deposit boxes, telephones, satellite TV, private
Jacuzzi, hair dryer and a stained glass dome window.
Fine dining and casual fare are
available in our various restaurants and bars all featuring International
gourmet cuisine, Costa Rican specialties or picnics are carefully prepared
by master chefs. Choose a candlelit atmosphere, a romantic dinner under
the stars, or a casual beachside lunch, snack or drink.
At Tango Mar the opportunities
for relaxation and adventure are endless.Two private beaches have over a
mile of sand for walking and sunbathing. Venture along the cliffs to the
Mirador for a breathtaking panorama of beach and ocean. Then explore the
coastline and a sign-posted nature trail on a visit to a nearby cove where
you will discover a 40-foot waterfall bursting through a cliff into the
natural ocean pool below. Or, take a refreshing dip in our pool during the
day or evening.
Enjoy a game of tennis
during the day or evening on the illuminated courts at Tango Mar. Or do
what most other people do ... laze amid the beautiful surroundings of the
spring-fed swimming pool set in a picture-perfect jungle garden of exotic
plants and trees.
Sport and deep sea fishing
offers constant action bringing in sailfish, marlin, dorado, tuna, wahoo
and mackerel. On coastal fishing excursions boats travel in sight of Cabo
Blanco Nature Reserve, with a view of one of the most beautiful nature
parks and the exotic birds that inhabit it. Deep sea fishermen are
attended by experienced crews who know the local waters and can locate the
best fishing sites. Fishing parties frequently experience sightings of
whale and dolphin in these waters.
Tango Mar has its own
quality horses and stables. You can ride into the jungle, across rivers
and valleys, visiting local village communities and discovering hidden
jungle waterfalls. Trails also include some of the best beach horseback
riding available anywhere.
Exhilarating snorkeling
and scuba adventures are to be found among the reefs off nearby Tortuga
Island with their intriguing rock formations festooned with myriad soft
corals, sponges, anemones, featherdusters and dancing tropical fish. The
Banana Express is a sunken steamboat with interesting aqua culture and
lots of colorful fish! And intrepid divers thrill at deep water sightings
of majestic manta rays, whales and bottlenose dolphin.
Sailing excursions
may be arranged to fit any desire. Enjoy a romantic interlude cruising
along the Pacific coastline at sunset, or embark on a journey to long
distance ports. A sailing adventure suitable for your style and budget is
easily organized on site during your stay at Tango Mar.
Surfers will relish the
constant rolling waves that are characteristic of this part of Costa Rica.
Few places in the world offer the experience of riding the crest of wave
after wave with only the dipping and soaring gulls as companions. Tango
Mar's own south facing beach if fast rising, with waves that close out
quickly, but good for a short ride, especially when the Antarctica storms
are brewing. The west end of the beach offers a point break onto shallow
rocks into a fast, right slide. Nearby Mal Pais gets sets from the west
and south - long rides and overheads.
LOCATION: By Air
A short 25 minute flight takes you to the Tambor Airport, located
just 5 miles (8km) from Tango Mar. Service is provided daily by 2
companies. Also, private flights can be arranged.
Transfer between Tango Mar and Tambor Airport cost US$9.00 per person per
way.
