   The San Clemente Palace is Venice’s big new luxury grand hotel for elite tourism on San Clemente Island. Its origins go back to 1131, the year in which the church and a hospital run by a religious order were built. Through the years this island has always retained its image as an oasis of peace, welcoming and cordial.
       Today’s complex, enhanced by open-air courtyards, retains all the charm and atmosphere of the ancient monastery of the Camaldolesi order, built in the second half of the seventeenth century.
      The restoration of the buildings, accomplished with the utmost respect for the island’s historical and artistic treasures and natural beauties, has made it possible to preserve all its historical flavour and to achieve a truly luxurious hotel for international guests who expect the most in terms of privacy and discretion.
    The professionalism of the staff, with their excellent linguistic skills and awareness of the customs and needs of diverse international cultures, will make every guest feel thoroughly “at home”.
        The San Clemente Palace is a few minutes away by motorboat from Piazza San Marco and all the attractions that the Venetian lagoon has to offer. From there, Venice’s major museums can be reached either on foot, in vaporetto or by taxi. A gondola ride is the most romantic and “Venetian” way to appreciate the city’s artistic splendour and immense historical heritage. These unique crafts, venture through the maze of canals between charming calli and bright campi, offering perspectives that other modes of transportation can only hope to match.
