A charming and unique4-star hotel and spa on a lush ancestral  vineyard in Martillac,  the Château Smith Haute Lafitte, just 10 miles south of the wine worshiping city of Bordeaux.
       The genesis of the idea for this spa was the scientfic study that proved that red wine, with its antioxidants called polyphenols, actually help to keep the heart young and healthy in spite of the high cholesterol diets the French are so fond of.   In addition it was shown that the grape seeds, normally discarded during wine production, contain powerful  antioxi dants that protect tissues, including the skin. These antioxidants are 10,000 times  more effective than vitamin E in stopping free radicals.
       From this potent scientific data Mathilde Thomas, daughter of the proprietor of the vineyard, developed  her own line of cosmetics which are used exclusively in the spa. So effective were they that now her list of fans include Catherine Deneuve, Donatella Versace, Princess Caroline of Monaco, Madonna  and Isabelle Adjani are fans of her products.

Les Sources de Caudalie is a delightful hotel in Martillac, set among the 'Graves de Bordeaux' Grand Cru vineyards of the Gironde in south-west France and just a few minutes' drive from the city of Bordeaux. There is no word in English for 'Caudalie'. Nor does Les Sources de Caudalie have any equivalent! It is a unique concept that brings together the sophistication of the grape, the art of haute cuisine, the Grand Cru Château Smith-Haute-Lafitte and thermal springs.

• Rejuvenation finds many forms at this hotel and spa whose luxurious style is a therapy in itself. The decor and the comfort levels in the 49 rooms and nine suites are magnificent. The chef of the restaurant enjoys cooking with his personality; 'La Grand Vigne' for refined classics or 'La Table du Lavoir' with its country inn flavours. The wine list is impressive with 15,000 bottles in the château cellar. The cigar tasting club offers a panoramic view over the vineyards while the French Paradox bar enables guests to taste great wines and champagnes by the glass. 'Caudalie'?                    You want to experience the real Grape Treatment by eating only organic grape and nothing else ! During the harvest, from September to November, to purify your body and helprecover a glowing complexion. A doctor will prescribe your grape treatment  and then the appropriate rate.

           Your want a firm and tonic body. Our Vinotherapie treatments will be associated with the ultimate french slimming technique of Endermology. You will enjoy a 500 Kcal lunch and dinner and healthy breakfast.
